Need a Notary Fast? Same-Day and After-Hours Options
Notary needs have a way of turning urgent. A document with a deadline, a hospital form that can’t wait, a closing tomorrow morning. The good news: a fast notarization is usually very doable. Here are the quickest paths and how to make a rush appointment go smoothly.
When speed is the whole point
Some of the most common urgent ones I see: a power of attorney or advance directive needed at a hospital, a travel consent letter before a flight, an affidavit due in court, a real estate document on a deadline, or paperwork a company needs back today. If it has a clock on it, say so up front and I’ll point you to the fastest route.
Same-day mobile: I come to you
For in-person notarizations across the Milwaukee metro, I offer same-day, evening, and weekend appointments. A quick call or text with the basics (what the document is, where you are, and your deadline) is usually all it takes to get something on the calendar fast. I bring everything needed to your home, office, hospital room, or a nearby coffee shop.
Online can be even faster
If your document qualifies, remote online notarization is often the quickest option of all. It happens over a secure video session in about 15 to 30 minutes, from wherever you are, as long as both you and I are in Wisconsin at the time. Here’s how online notarization works if you want the details.
How to make a rush appointment fly
- Have the document fully completed, except the signature that has to happen in front of me.
- Find your valid, unexpired photo ID and check that the name matches the document.
- Make sure everyone who needs to sign is available at the same time.
- Tell me the deadline and who the document is going to, so I can flag anything that might be a problem.
What can slow a rush down
A few things can stall even an urgent job: an incomplete document, an expired ID or a name that doesn’t match, a signer who isn’t able to understand or sign willingly, or a document that a specific office requires in wet ink and in person. None of these are common, but knowing them ahead of time is how you avoid a second trip.
In a time crunch? Calling or texting is the fastest way to reach me. Tell me your deadline and I’ll do my best to make it work.
